Upcoming Health & Wellbeing event set to welcome community

Hughenden Gardens Retirement Village will be hosting an upcoming Health & Wellbeing Event set to bring together residents, the local community, charities, and organisations for a day dedicated to health and community support.

Taking place on Friday 21st June from 11am-1.30pm, the free event is spearheaded by The ExtraCare Charitable Trust and will be a collaborative effort with various local charities, and supporting bodies including Age Friendly Bucks, Versus Arthritis, Agility Physio, Healthwatch, Macular Society, Lymphoedema Support Network, and more.

With a diverse range of services on offer, attendees can expect support tailored to their individual health needs. From arthritis management to lymphoedema support, representatives will be on hand to provide valuable insights and resources.

The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to receive free blood pressure checks, emphasising the importance of proactive healthcare management. This initiative underscores the event’s goal to empower and encourage individuals to prioritise their wellbeing.

Throughout the day, there will be the chance to engage in informative sessions and interactive demonstrations in a supportive environment where residents and the wider community can access the resources they need to lead healthy and fulfilling lives.

Hughenden Gardens Village

In 2012-15 and 2015-18 research studies conducted by Aston and Lancaster Universities, results found that since moving in, significant improvements could be found in ExtraCare residents’ health and wellbeing. Residents at retirement villages like Hughenden Gardens got more physical exercise and found their memory and cognitive abilities improved. Hughenden Gardens Village lies beside the beautiful Hughenden Valley in High Wycombe and provides spacious apartments and a host of opportunities for local residents and those who live at the retirement village.

No registration is needed for the free event, it is open to all!
