The three trustees will help guide the strategic development of ExtraCare by providing inspirational and insightful leadership as members of an enthusiastic and committed Board.
Each of them brings to the Board a wealth of expertise and experience.
Andy is the current Chief Executive Officer of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW), one of the largest tertiary acute Trusts in the country. In 2016 he was appointed Professor of Industry at the University of Warwick and is Director of the Albany Theatre Trust, Coventry.
Harpal has been involved in adult social care for as long as he can remember and founded Sapphire Education & Training, a training provider delivering apprenticeships, diplomas and specialist training courses in the health and social sector.
Harpal Baines, ExtraCare Trustee says: “Over the years I have followed the work of ExtraCare Charitable Trust and have witnessed the positive outcomes that their work achieves for the communities in which they serve. The values at ExtraCare which create better lives for older people, really resonate with my own values and what I have worked for in my professional career, as such, I am proud to be joining the board of trustees and hope that I can make a positive contribution to the development of the charity and most importantly, the outcomes for residents and the local community.”
Richard is the Group Director of HSE & Fleet at Travis Perkins Plc, a non-exec Director of the Considerate Constructors Scheme, and chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health.
Richard Byrne, ExtraCare Trustee comments: “I am thrilled to be joining ExtraCare during what is a significant time for the charity and its older people. I look forward to meeting and working with the staff teams and hope to make a positive impact in ensuring that the charity continues to deliver its vision in enabling older people to live healthy, happy, and independent lives.”
The team at ExtraCare wishes to welcome all three to the Board.
