ExtraCare Schemes and Villages Nominated for National Housing for Older People Awards
Broadway Gardens, James Beattie House and Terryspring Court have been nominated as finalists in the Elderly Accommodation Council (EAC) national awards.
Voting closed last week and involved residents, visitors and staff from retirement schemes and villages all over the country casting their ballots online or by post. The EAC’s aim is to help older people make informed choices about meeting their housing and care needs and each year the awards celebrate the best examples of housing for later life.
This year saw 10,000 people casting their vote for their favourite retirement housing developments and a total of 1,170 locations were nominated.
Out of these, 10 ExtraCare schemes and villages were nominated, with three achieving enough votes to become finalists and seven coming highly commended.
Finalists will find out if they are Gold, Silver or Bronze winners at the EAC Awards Ceremony in Birmingham on May 16th.
ExtraCare’s schemes and villages that were highly commended are:
Brunel Court, Bushfield Court, Camoys Court, Lovat Fields Village, School Court, St Dominic’s Court, Yates Court.
