Christmas festivities take place across ExtraCare
Our 20 locations are well and truly embracing the festive spirit this Christmas with concerts, fayres, bell ringing, pantomimes, Christmas jumpers and new years eve balls to name just a few of the events.

Find out just a little of what’s going on across our ExtraCare locations below.
At Lark Hill Village in Nottingham they enjoyed a visit from performing arts students who performed a Christmas concert. They were also joined by White School Choir for songs. South Wilford School will be attending with Bell Ringing and their choir soon and on the 22nd December the Nottingham Operatic Society will be performing their Christmas concert
At Wixams Village staff kindly swapped their Secret Santa presents for a gift donation for The Giving Tree Charity. The Giving Tree is a charity for children who have had to flee domestic abuse, leaving all their possessions behind. Residents at Wixams also wanted to get involved and the charitable response was amazing!
Shenley Wood Village held a Christmas Craft Fayre at the end of November which was a great success! The village was buzzing with lots of local traders, residents and visitors. They had children’s activities, festive food provided by the restaurant team Elior, and a huge raffle for which was raised £500! They also held two Christmas parties and had popular duo Me & Mrs Jones return to sing timeless classics as well as Christmas songs. Everyone dressed up in Christmas Jumpers and residents really enjoyed the show and how the hall was decorated.
Pannel Croft Village were joined by the salvation army band who visited on 13th December with resident participation as they joined the festive vibe. they also had a Christmas market on the 14th December & Chillwell School performed Christmas carols for residents!
Over in Gloucester St Oswalds Village residents were entertained beautifully by local school children from the King’s Junior School – who performed a heart-warming Christmas concert.
In High Wycombe Hughenden Gardens Village, held festive dinners where residents were treated to a concert and a singalong with Bucks Youth Choir. They were also visited by the Wycombe Youth Orchestra and the Ukrainian Xmas Band both were absolutely fantastic!
In the Birmingham villages Hagley Road had a Christmas Jumper day and a wonderful performance of nursery children’s Christmas Carols. New Oscott held a Volunteer thank you party and a Christmas karaoke party. Mulled wine, mince pies, Christmas jumpers, and festive cheer were on the cards and the lovely DJ Roy and his wife from Bournville Gardens came over to run the karaoke, everyone had a fabulous time. They also held their Christmas Fayre with craft stalls, breakfast with Santa and his helpers, balloon modelling, and children’s magic shows with lots of laughter. Bournville Gardens held their own Christmas Fayre with fresh festive wreaths to buy, a Christmas raffle and a number of craft stalls and live music from Santasax. Over at Longbridge the team held a stunning Christmas Fayre on 25th November boasting a Santa’s grotto and independent stalls.
Further north at Brunswick Gardens Village in Sheffield they held an amazing little Red Riding Hood pantomime. Lots of songs, laughter and interaction. The Woodhouse Prize Brass Band attended and put everyone in the Christmas spirit, followed by a Christmas movie afternoon showing of Miracle on 34th Street.
Solihull Village hosted the Salvation Army Choir on the 19th December and will hold a New Years Eve Masquerade Party.
Humber Court wowed residents with a Christmas Festival with brilliant performers, they will also be having a Christmas Carol concert, Christmas Day games, and a New Years Eve Party!
Rosewood Court will be indulging in Fudge making and Christmas Flower arranging as part of their Christmas festivities.
At Sunley Court in Kettering they had a Christmas film night watch of The Grinch on the 13th December where they invited all the family and children and opened the event up to the community. They had breakfast with Santa, a lovely breakfast followed by Story from Santa and gift giving and photo opportunities this is one for the Children and opened up to the Community too- This was followed by an Annual Staff Christmas fun run in the gardens. New Year will see a festive Pyjama party on the 31st.
At Yates Court they celebrated with a Baileys and Bass band night, Christmas Bingo with Baileys and Mince Pies, and a cabaret and fizz afternoon.
Stoke Gifford Village in Bristol held a Christmas Fair on Saturday 2nd December! With 28 stallholders, carols by Concord Wind Band and the community choir and Santa meeting over 100 excited children the event was a huge success! The day included Christmas tree crafts, turkey rolls for lunch, and lively entertainment by Marky Jay.
Reeve Court Village hosted a Turkey and Tinsel Dinner with live music and a Christmas Party social line dancing night with the fantastic M T Allen and our super DJ Chris. On Christmas Eve the Reeve Court Choir will be performing with sherry and mince pies on offer at the bar.
Over at Lovat Fields Village in Milton Keynes held a popular Christmas Jumper Day. Resident Paul Bristow has been sharing his own festive photography at his youtube channel from the beautiful decorations around Lovat Fields which you can check out here.
Earlsdon Park Village held a Christmas Fayre on Saturday 9th December – their biggest and best yet. The village was buzzing with lots of stallholders and people having a great time, both residents and visitors. There was also a Residents Christmas Party which was attended by over 150 residents and a Concert of Two Halves!! The first half featured WorldSong a wonderful acapella harmonies choir based in the Coventry area and the second half featuring a variety show performed by their very own residents. Residents read poems, told stories and sang – one resident was even accompanied by her grandson on piano and daughter singing!
