Why should I get involved with the Village so early?
The community around an ExtraCare Village starts to form around two years before the first residents move in. It can seem very early, and sometimes people ask us why they should be interested so far in advance.
Be the first to know
We know that our prospective residents want to know about costs as soon as purchase and rental prices are released, and when they can visit the show apartments.
If you join our register of interest, we’ll keep you informed of all of our upcoming news and events, including early information days, applications opening and the show homes being ready for visitors! We don’t want you to miss out.
Get to know the staff team
There are around 30 members of staff in every ExtraCare Retirement Village, in addition to the teams who will help you navigate moving in. By coming to our regular Friends meetings and other early events, you’ll meet some of the team who may be supporting your move in journey, arranging activities once you’ve moved in, offering well-being advice and providing your care.
What if I don’t want to move just yet?
People sometimes tell us that they are thinking of applying, but would rather wait until the Village is open.
While we would never encourage you to move years before you feel ready, our Villages usually develop waiting lists quickly, and these people are disappointed when they can’t move in two years down the line. That’s why we always suggest, if you’re interested in applying for a property, please contact the Village Team sooner rather than later.
No obligation!
You’re not under any obligation to purchase an apartment; registering your interest just means that we can contact you with further details about the development, let you know when applications are open, and invite you to events where you can meet other people who are considering making the move.
