Pannel Croft Retirement Village to launch day service
Pannel Croft Retirement Village in Newtown, Birmingham, is launching a day service.
From June 2017, Birmingham residents aged 55 and over will be able to access the service and liven up their social life, join a vibrant community and maybe even pick up some new hobbies.
The day service will offer a choice of things to do including gentle exercise, craft and recreational activities. Visitors will be able to get a meal in the Village restaurant, a snack in the café and even go shopping at the Village Shop. The Village Chef can also do take-away meals for people who prefer to eat in the evening. Thursday is market day when a range of stallholders take over the Village Street.
Joining the day service automatically gives visitors membership of the Village, which means they can join residents and other members for social events and outings in the evening and at weekends (additional fees may apply).
Local older people who meet their eligibility criteria may be able to access financial help to pay for the service through Birmingham City Council – anyone wanting to know more about this should contact their local social work team or talk to the Village staff.
If you are interested in finding out more about what Pannel Croft Village has to offer, either for yourself or for someone you know, please telephone Village Manager, Julie Levesley, on 0121 503 1000.
