Charity for older people opens shop doors in Harwood, Bolton.
Led by Christine Hubbard, Manager, the team at ExtraCare has officially opened the doors to its new charity shop on Leagate, Harwood, Bolton.
ExtraCare, a registered charity, that exists to create better lives for older people, has over 50 charity shops in total. The profits generated from all its shops help the charity to deliver its mission and finance many projects to benefit older people, including its award-winning well-being programme, and dementia and mental well-being support services.
Alongside Christine and Deputy Manager, Judith Culshaw, the shop in Harwood will be supported by a team of volunteers. ExtraCare relies on the dedicated support of volunteers to run its shops and deliver its services. The charity is always in need of new and willing volunteers to give their time to help ExtraCare broaden the horizons of older people. If you are interested in volunteering for the charity, please contact the shop at volunteering@extracare.org.uk.
Donations accepted include: clothing and shoes, toys, small electrical items, linens, books, and CDs and vinyls. And some shops will accept larger items, including furniture.
