At ExtraCare, we have more than 25 years’ experience of supporting and encouraging older people to stay independent and live life to the full.
If you need care and support, either now or in the future, our QCF (NVQ) qualified staff can assess your needs and deliver care in the privacy and comfort of your Village home. Care may range from just a daily pop-in visit to regular and more personal help.
Costs depend on the level of care that you need and care services are charged as required. We aim to provide a service that is flexible and affordable to you.
If you have a serious emergency, the Village team will respond.
The Village will have a Well-being Centre, run by a Well-being Advisor, a qualified nurse who offers health information, screenings and advice about leading a healthy lifestyle – it will cover everything from managing diabetes and asthma to sleep advice and staying safe in your own home. This service will be available to all residents at Stoke Gifford Retirement Village.
Recently, independent research by Aston University proved that our Well-being Service makes a real difference for our residents:
ExtraCare residents’ unplanned hospital stays were reduced from 8-14 days to 1-2 days.
Compared to people living in the local community, our residents had a 46 per cent reduction in visits to their GP over 12 months.
There was a 64.3 per cent reduction in people with significant clinical depression over 18 months.
