Victorian Christmas celebrations in Stoke-on-Trent

11th December, 2015

Residents from seven ExtraCare Villages and Schemes enjoyed a Christmas-themed Time to Shine event at Berryhill Retirement Village in Stoke-on-Trent.

The event was part of ExtraCare's annual Passion for Life series and the theme for the day was Victorian Christmas which helped the residents to get into the spirit of the festive season.

The residents taking part came from the Berryhill Village, Camoys Court, Reeve Court Village, Lark Hill Village, School Court, St Dominic's Court and Brunswick Gardens and all enjoyed a Christmas Dinner.

There were plenty of festive activities including decorating gingerbread men and some interesting characters including a tap-dancing turkey. Entertainment was provided by vocalist Steve Barclay.

Some of the craft fair items were also themed – entrants were invited to submit paper mache snowmen or Santas, Victorian jewellery and winter or Christmas scenes in the art competition.
