Twenty ExtraCare residents and friends took part in a golf tournament organised by the Charity’s Activities and Events Manager Donna Ball at West Midlands Golf Club, Solihull.
According to Donna, some of ExtraCare’s residents are excellent golfers and the results proved it.
Those taking part came from Lark Hill Village, Bournville Gardens and Princethorpe Court.
During the morning everyone received tips on the course and putting greens from Club Professional Alan Roach.
The award for the best dressed golfer went to Barbara Thomas from Bournville and the prize for the ball nearest the pin went to Alan Stockley (Lark Hill), who also came first with the longest drive. The award for the best individual player of the day went to John Costello (Lark Hill).
The prizes were presented by Jean Sedgewick and James Tomlinson from Princethorpe who enjoyed pitch and putt but didn't take part in the golf tournament, "They certainly enjoyed the day," said Princethorpe's Activity Coordinator Sandie Ball.
Donna said that the 18th hole was probably the toughest as the green was on an island in the middle of a lake.
The day was rounded off with a lovely cooked meal in the club's restaurant.
