Residents at ExtraCare’s Verona Court housing scheme in Wolverhampton have been having a busy and exciting time recently.
During one recent week they had a visit from a group of teenagers who are taking part in a challenge. They brought along cakes and chatted to the residents.
Two days later, residents enjoyed a strawberry and cream afternoon. Sadly because of the weather it had to be held indoors but it still proved popular. The food was served by Activity Co-ordinator Sophie Petrovic and Sarah Jones from the Social Club.
During the afternoon the 20 attendees were entertained by Johnny Tarrino, an excellent singer who performed ballads which were made famous by singers such as Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.
The following week, a group of residents visited the Black Country Museum and, the next day, eight residents with three members of staff and a volunteer went on a narrow boat cruise along the canal.
Sophie, who organised the events, says they provide as many outings and activities as possible and it's obvious everyone enjoys them.
