Longbridge Village - Terry and Annie Kilshaw

Terry and Annie have been married for 38 years and live in a two bedroomed house in Selly Oak, Birmingham.

Terry grew up in Longbridge and his father worked in the car factory. Now, at 72, he is considering a move to Longbridge Village.

“We are looking for a different sort of lifestyle to sort our ageing circumstances,” said Terry. “As you get older, you don’t want to be bothered with everything associated with maintaining a property.”

Annie, 61, said: “The Village looks fabulous.

“You’ve got company if you want it. You’ve got activities if you want them and you have also got privacy. It is the right time to start looking ahead.”

Terry and Annie attended the Longbridge Village information day in November, where they talked to staff about activities, the Village development programme and the ExtraCare Well-being Service. With the encouragement of Commissioning and Healthy Lifestyle Director Angela Bradford, Terry even had a go on ExtraCare’s smoothie bike!
